    The role of Junior Product Owner will work closely across the group with the product, editorial, sales, marketing and technology teams to understand the needs of the business and customers in relation to the digital product portfolio.  They will perform a key role in helping the business and the customers transition from the existing suite of websites to a new global platform.  In this role the Junior Product Owner will be exposed to all areas of a fast moving, dynamic business that operates across the globe, working on commodity data, news, subscription and marketing digital solutions.


    The ideal candidate will have an appetite to learn product management and product owner skills within a data, content and subscription business, using Agile development processes.  The Junior Product Owner will work as an Agile product owner for a team of off shore developers, learning how to interpret product development ideas into effective user stories, managing a product backlog and working closely with the technology team.


    Main duties & responsibilities:

    • Work with the Head of Digital Product and the business stakeholders to define and articulate the vision, strategy and roadmap for digital offerings, in line with overall business strategy
    • Work in collaboration with globally disparate development teams, marketing, sales, editorial and operations to successfully deliver valuable new features at the same time managing expectations of what is achievable and viable
    • Using all tools at your disposal learn to understand the target audience, how they use the existing products and what they want from future products
    • Aptitude to work at project, feature and fix level simultaneously on multiple streams
    • Ability to think around problems, identify customer and business needs and enable the process for effective problem solving
    • Lead reporting on product initiatives, progress, identifying areas of success and where further improvement is required
    • Develop wireframes and documentation, including user stories and acceptance criteria to help communicate requirements for internal and external stakeholders
    • Create and manage collateral to support sales strategy for digital offerings
    • Work to aggressive deadlines in a dynamic environment
    • Highlight risks as they become evident
    • Enable the development team to meet project milestones through timely delivery of key documents
    • Run prototype, beta and user-group programs with early-stage features to capture feedback and maximise successful adoption
