    Euromoney is seeking a General Manager for Global Investor Group to grow the subscriptions and events businesses and to maintain advertising revenues. The candidate will be responsible for GIG's existing product range and for successfully launching new products.


    We are looking for a candidate with experience in traditional publishing and events businesses, who also has experience in either the derivatives or securities finance sectors. The ideal candidate will be sales-driven with experience in managing sales, events and editorial teams, will be adept at developing new revenue streams and in managing costs by streamlining processes.  The candidate should be commercially-minded and a good team leader with a proven track record of setting and achieving commercial goals.




    The General Manager will grow the subscriptions and events businesses and manage and sell advertising and sponsorship revenues. The candidate will oversee GIG's existing products and successfully launch new products.



    The General Manager will be responsible for the P&L of the business and develop and implement plans to grow revenues and profits. She/he will be tasked with taking the commercial lead on the business and also selling a book of business. In addition, she/he will be responsible for managing the sales, editorial and events teams through three direct reports.


    The role will have a broad remit, including:


    • Manage a £3m revenue P&L
    • Optimise the profits and quality of the existing businesses, with a focus on growth through subscription and events sales, developing and implementing a sustainable growth plan
    • Maintain revenues in the advertising business
    • Manage a team of journalists, sales people and events staff in London and Singapore, and build a team culture that will excel under your leadership, managing their performance
    • Attract, develop and engage team members, building an inclusive culture in which talent can thrive
    • Play an active role in originating and developing new clients and expanding business with existing clients
    • Achieve alignment to Euromoney’s code of conduct and group policies across the team
    • To work with peers and colleagues across the SI division to establish networking links and establish common areas for collaboration
    • Applying internal financial and risk controls and relevant information systems to support business activities



    Must have extensive experience of how to successfully sell and commercialise B2B content marketing, ideally in securities finance, derivatives or custody markets or related financial services markets


    Must have experience of building B2B events and advertising businesses, developing and successfully launching new events and taking them through the complete product lifecycle to profitability


    Must be able to position the subscription business for growth through the development of quality news editorial


    Must have a proven track record in selling new business and managing and optimising revenues from existing clients


    Good general leadership skills


    Demonstrable track record of managing growth and margin improvements would be an advantage
