    Content Manager

     

    Reporting to Head of Content

     

    Responsibilities

    • Developing both existing conferences in the global event portfolio and working within the wider events team to identify new event opportunities.
    • Evaluating the viability of conference topics by conducting in-depth research with leading experts and senior industry figures (both internal and external research)
    • Carrying out detailed research across a complete cross-section of the target market, through phone and desk research and meetings, in order to determine which topics are needed by the market
    • Project ownership of each event from a content perspective and to ensure that conferences run to deadline
    • Identifying the strengths and weaknesses of competitive events through websites, brochures, attendance and talking with their speakers
    • Analysis of multi-source research to write compelling programme agendas
    • Identifying and contacting potential speakers, and recruiting them onto the programme.  Negotiating speaker fees and expenses and staying within the guidelines and sourcing replacement speakers when necessary
    • Working closely with sales and marketing to ensure the commercial viability of conference agendas
    • With your colleagues, travelling to events and running the conference on the day, networking with the delegates and resolving any unforeseen issues
    • At event research and post-event feedback to identify potential future topics and ways in which events can be improved
    • Developing and maintaining relationships with key industry stakeholders to support the development of the event series

     

    Qualifications

    • Educated to 2:1 degree or equivalent
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Conference Producer in a commercial B2B environment
    • Experience in technology infrastructure/telecoms desirable but not essential
    • Analytical minded with an innovative and creative flair
    • Confident and proactive with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Strong research ability via the telephone and face to face
